Industrial Minerals
Barite
API 13A drilling-grade and industrial barite, supplied to specification worldwide.
Applications
Barite is the primary weighting agent in oil and gas drilling fluids, raising mud density to control formation pressure and stabilize the wellbore. Micronized paint and chemical grades act as functional fillers in coatings, plastics and rubber, improving opacity, brightness and chemical resistance. High-density chemical grade is further used in barium compound production and radiation-shielding materials.
