Gilsonite (Natural Bitumen)
High-purity natural bitumen for drilling, asphalt, inks and foundries.
Applications
Gilsonite is a naturally occurring hydrocarbon resin valued for its high carbon content, strong bonding capacity, and thermal stability. It serves as a shale stabilizer and fluid-loss additive in oil- and water-based drilling muds, and as a performance modifier that improves rutting resistance and waterproofing in hot-mix asphalt and pavement sealants. It further reinforces black printing inks, protective coatings, foundry sand additives, and resin and adhesive compounds.
